Wow! This is a neat way to communicate!

Welcome to the new safety blog from the Florida Suncoast Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers - the largest and oldest association of safety professionals in the world - now celebrating (this year) 100 years of service.

I must admit that I stumbled on to this unique form of communication by accidental invitation, while signing up for a new blog sponsored by OSHA Training Services (http://oshatrainingservices.blogspot.com).

Our goal is to share as much as possible about safe practices, bad things that are happening or could happen, and new ideas for improving safety. The more participation we have other safety professionals - and the public - the greater the value of this new media.

In the meantime, visit our website at http://www.assesuncoast.org/ for information on upcoming meetings and other events, and the ASSE national site at http://www.asse.org/ for a wealth of information regarding training and other services.

BTW: Our chapter meets for lunch and a timely program at the Tri-County Apprenticeship Center at Building 5, Jetport Parkway near the Fort Myers Regional Airport on third-Thursdays at 11:30 (except for some summer months and October - when we host a Professional Development Conference at the Crowne Plaza in Fort Myers). Check the website for specifics - and join us!
